About me
Jennifer Gruno, PhD, is an Associate Professor in the School of Exercise Science, Physical and Health Education at the University of Victoria. Her research focuses on nature-based physical activity, outdoor learning, Physical and Health Education pedagogy, and schools–university partnerships, with particular interest in fostering connections to Land, community, and the natural world. Through collaborative and action-oriented research, she works alongside educators and community partners to co-design, implement, and evaluate contextually relevant approaches to Physical and Health Education. Her work aims to bridge research and practice while supporting teacher professional learning and meaningful, sustainable educational change.
