In May 2026, Take Me Outside, with partners at Trent University and Nipissing University, launched a national survey to better understand the demographic characteristics, identities and lived experience of educators within the TMO community. In this session, Blair will provide an overview of the survey findings, and contextualize the results within contemporary theories of social justice, including some of his own work on how to operationalize abstract ideas of social justice into the daily practice of educators who are committed to outdoor learning. The session will include time for dialogue on the implications of the survey results for system planning that prioritizes inclusive access to and welcome within spaces and places of outdoor learning.
