Welcome to the 2026 Outdoor Learning Leadership Conference
Friday October 30, 2026 3:15pm - 4:30pm MDT
Join Vancouver Island administrators Alison Leslie and Kelly Girvan from Cowichan Valley School District as they share district initiatives such as the Climate Action Plan, Place Based Learning Guide and Land-based learning leadership committee. This informative workshop will give district leaders a road map to create systemic changes that value First People’s Principles of Learning and Land as Pedagogy to enhance student learning and building relationships with the land they live on. Building relationships with local Indigenous Nations is integral to building and creating district initiatives and documents to guide student learning, development, cultural competence and mental wellness.
