Welcome to the 2026 Outdoor Learning Leadership Conference
Friday October 30, 2026 10:45am - 12:00pm MDT
Youth are not just the leaders of tomorrow; they are essential actors today in the fight against climate change. Yet too often, children and young people are framed as passive victims rather than capable agents of change. This interactive workshop equips educators and school system leaders with practical strategies to intentionally position students as central drivers of environmental action and climate justice by showcasing replicable climate initiatives that affirm students as powerful, capable change agents now.
Drawing on experiences from the EcoSchools program, which already offers diverse opportunities for students to collectively contribute to planetary health, we will explore a critical question: How do we systematically strengthen students' leadership skills, confidence, and agency as change agents?
